Spyderco Chapparal Folding Knife

The Spyderco Chaparral is an exclusive gentleman’s knife, designed by Sal Glesser. The Chaparral collection is for Spyderco the perfect collection to experiment with exclusive and new handle materials. In this case the handle is made from Birdseye Maple. This type of wood got its name thanks to the pattern in the wood. These grains looks like eyes. Truly remarkable!

Of course, the material used for the handle is not the only reason to buy this pocket knife. The blade is also great. The blade is made from CTS-XHP. A good type of steel that retains its sharpness well. What is also special about this blade is how thin it is behind the edge. As such it cuts like no other.

You can easily open the blade with one hand with the help of the characterizing thumb hole. When opened a solid backlock neatly keeps the blade in place. The knife is enhanced with a subtle wire clip pocket clip. It is functional and at the same time shows a large part of the material used for the handle.
